Weekapaug Inn Meeting House

The Weekapaug Inn is a historic hotel located just off the coast, outside of Westerly, Rhode Island. With its recent revitalization, the Inn was looking to add a building to host small conferences, corporate meetings, and provide support space for the many outdoor weddings that occur in the green.

CTA Provided acoustical consulting services from design through construction and had very hands-on experience with measuring and understanding the environmental sound dynamics of outdoor weddings. The interior space contains large areas of hidden sound-absorbing finish to provide clarity for speech-based events and control of loudness for social events. The room sounds lively, yet controlled with exciting views of the water and the Inn. The exterior walls and roof were also designed to contain the sound of loud music for small weddings or events.
