Environmental Acoustics

The Environmental Team at Cavanaugh Tocci has performed noise analyses of hundreds of industrial facilities for municipalities and private clients alike across North America. These include warehouse and distribution facilities, wind farms, solar facilities, power plants, quarries, and data centers. In these projects, the team conducts week-long ambient sound measurements to document the existing environment.   We use an ISO 9613-compliant computer noise model that calculates sound at nearest receptors.  This model includes data for the noise source, distance, barrier attenuation, and topography. Our models also integrate local and federal Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data to ensure accuracy. In addition, the team reviews local, state, and federal regulations to recommend noise controls that best protect the local community.  Our studies have been peer-reviewed by other consultants, and we routinely peer-review sound studies by other firms.
